Outdoor Adventures



Outdoor adventures include hiking, camping and a range of outdoor activities and weekend getaways.

Hiking is an outdoor activity which consists of walking in natural environments, often in mountainous or other scenic terrain. People often hike on hiking trails. It is such a popular activity that there are numerous hiking organisations worldwide. We use hiking to develop communication and support skills in group activities.

In general, hiking burns more calories than walking because it utilises steeper paths. Yet, per half an hour, hiking burns fewer calories than running. This form of outdoor exercise offers several benefits, including improvements in weight loss, mental health, and lower body strength.

Hiking is a powerful cardio workout that can:


  • Lower your risk of heart disease.

  • Improve your blood pressure and blood sugar levels.

  • Boost bone density, since walking is a weight-bearing exercise.

  • Build strength in your glutes, quadriceps, hamstrings, and the muscles in your hips and lower legs.
