Workshop is a teaching structure that pushes students to be creative and responsible in their own learning. The Workshop Model asks students to take charge of their own learning, becoming active and engaged in their work and development of understanding.
Online workshops
As a result of Covid-19, we have pivoted towards a mix-and-blend of traditional and online workshops using popular digital applications such as (Zoom, Anydesk etc., to conduct collaborative discussions where we encourage participants to dive into a specific topic in detail. These workshops are typically far more interactive than traditional online meetings.
We conduct several types of Workshops;
Invitational
Constructivist
Reflection
Conferencing
Choice
According to John Hattie (2015), direct instruction has a relatively high effect depending on the size of groups. Other factors contribute to effective workshops from classroom discussion, to self-questioning and problem-solving teaching. While classroom discussion can still achieved with a more didactic approach, the latter two need a different style of teaching.
The didactic approach to teaching refers to a manner of instruction in which information is presented directly from the teacher to the pupil, in which the teacher selects the topic of instruction, controls instructional stimuli, obligates a response from the child, evaluates child responses, and provides reinforcement learning.
